Waves 04:53
Will someone open up a window I think I need some air, You’re not really talking, digressing, we’re not addressing, You’re just stinking up the room with stuff we don’t care, You don’t know what you’re talking about, you’re just guessing; Everyone is talking at once, no one is listening, Giving themselves the empty vaunt, is anyone listening? When everyone is dying at once, you better be listening, Well this is a ghost that will haunt, when there is no one listening; Who will, who will sing our songs, When we are gone, Who will, who will sing our songs, When the waves have come; It’s getting hot and humid in this room, it’s full of CO2, Probably from all the meetings, greetings, we’re not progressing, We’re just choking up the room with stuff we can’t bear, I don’t know why I’m telling you, you don’t care; Everyone is talking at once, no one is listening, Giving themselves the empty vaunt, As everyone is dying at once, As our collective hearts beat at once, slower... Who will, who will sing our songs, When we are gone, Who will, who will sing our songs, When the waves have come;

Long ago I got caught all alone in the dark, I couldn’t see my way out for the brambles had blacked the light all out, I could tell I was surrounded by life but still it felt so stark, Ten million colours to see but I was struck in the black of doubt; That’s when you shone your light, Down the path, my star so bright, That’s when you shone your light, Down the path, my star so bright; As I stumbled my way, I could see the yellows of their eyes, And the points on their teeth, as the sound on the wind growled and groaned, It was then in a moment of fear, I thought that it was my time, A meagre existence for me, I thought, lost to a man life scorned; That’s when you shone your light, Down the path, my star so bright, That’s when you shone your light, Down the path, my star so bright; When life leads down the other road, And there’s nowhere left to go, When the dance of Wolves has become just another memory. I know she’ll still be shining, Lighting the way home for me;

Cleftones 03:31
A world consumed by constant fear, is the easiest to mold, When the memory of war is near, we can shape it to our hold, A generation to press, fed to excess, we are less than impressed, And the political lies, all for our lives, for the state is their cry, as we’re destined to die; Fire up the propaganda machines, we can win hearts through their screens, An open mind is such a shameful waste, so fill it up and send it back out with hate, We’re out to win hearts and minds, we’ve got a plan to divide, See when they’re willingly led, by all of that which is said, there’s no need for bloodshed; Lay down your lives, for your national lines, We’ve been compromised, They’ve been busy in their hives, did you miss the signs? Setting up our own demise; So burn down the machine, and overthrow their regime, We’ll take back all that they took, as they did all that they could, to drive everything out that is good, Now they’re planting the mines, as their leaders hide, Now is the time to unite, to fight for what is right, and bring light to the endless night; So lay down your lives, for your national lines, We’ve been compromised, They’ve been busy in their hives, did you miss the signs? Setting up our own demise;

Oxy's Moron 05:46
Say it! Say it! Say it for me! Say it! Say it! Say it for me! What’s wrong, get over it, you seem fine to me! What’s up, snap out of it, seems it could be worse to me! I can tell you this right now, Things have never felt quite so episodic, I can feel the weight on my brow, I’ve never felt in my life so neurotic; And it’s clawing at me, holding me down, throwing me around, And it’s pulling me down, chewed up and ground, As I’m crushed and defaced by the mass of silent sound; Say it! Say it for me! Say it! Say it for me! So why does it always have to be me verses me? A thousand tiny voices are calling me to the sea, And they’re calling, calling me; So why does it always have to be me verse me? A hundred thousand voices, a chorus in the sea, And they’re calling, calling me! Shhh, when it’s quiet, That’s when it’s loudest, When it’s quiet, That’s when it’s felt the most, Shhh, when it’s quiet, That’s when it’s hardest, When it’s quiet, That’s when I am it’s host, And when I’m quiet, That’s when I feel it all, When I’m quiet, That’s when you’d recognise me the least, And when I’m quiet, That’s when I need you to stand tall, When I’m quiet, That’s when I need you to put me back on my feet! Now you tell me I stand so proud, But I tell you I’ve never been so, So unsure of who I am, As I’m feeling the swell, The tension it builds, my heart is at a pace, I feel sick to the gills, at what I can’t bear to face, My gut’s turned to stone, as my hands begin to shake, I’ve nothing left to give, and I have absolutely nothing to equate; So why does it always have to be me verses me? A thousand tiny voices are calling me to the sea, And they’re calling, calling me! So why does it always have to be me verse me? A hundred thousand voices, a chorus in the sea, And they’re calling, calling me; So why does it always have to be me verses me? A thousand tiny voices are calling me to the sea, And they’re calling, calling me! So why does it always have to be me verse me? A hundred thousand voices, a chorus in the sea, And they’re calling, calling me;

about

Following a successful tour with MC Lars, Mega Ran & Koo Koo Kanga Roo in 2019 Ruled By Raptors commenced work on their next release with Romesh Dodangoda at his Longwave Recording Studios in Cardiff armed with the four tracks that became their sophomore EP, Silent Sound.

Heavier and even more contagious than their previous record, Silent Sound is a powerful statement that has been backed by the likes of Alex Baker of Kerrang! Radio to succeed.

Vocalist and guitarist, Chris Bradley, comments about the EP: “You can only write about what you know. I usually write quite literally, but this time I wanted to use more descriptive writing and metaphor, as I felt it more suited the content of the songs. The name Silent Sound is something we all felt was fairly apt for both the mental health and the political aspects of the EP and derives from the lyrics of Oxy’s Moron.”

Following on from the Covid Pandemic which shut down the live music scene for almost 2 years, the band regrouped to tour with MC Lars once again this time with his friends Schaffer The Darklord and Laser from the Doubleclicks. Playing to a host of reputable venues and even featuring as MC Lars' backing band at Slam Dunk Festival 2022, Ruled By Raptors felt it was now finally time to put the record out and let it fend for itself.

The band hopes that you enjoy what has been a very difficult process getting from the writing room to your ears.
